Volunteer with rescued wildlife in Laos

this task:

The Lao Conservation Trust for Wildlife is the first all-species rescue in Laos, South East Asia. We rescue, rehabilitate and release any animals native to Laos, most of which have come from the illegal wildlife trade, and often arrive in a sorry state.

We work closely with the government to help act for change to support wildlife in Laos, and we also work closely with the local communities and school children, with our aim being to eradicate the illegal wildlife trade within Laos. We run the only wildlife crime reporting hotline in the country, so we are on standby 24/7 for new rescues to come in, which happens regularly.

We are busier than ever, and so need your help now to help care for our animals! With over 200 animals on site, there is always something to keep you busy whilst here - whether that's preparing tailor made diets for each of our animals, feeding them out, helping with enrichment creation to keep the animals mentally challenged, or even assisting with our rescues and releases.

Check out our Instagram and Facebook page to see what's been happening at our site recently, and if it sounds like something you'd love to be involved in, then apply online at https://lctwildlife.org/get-involved/volunteer/international-visiting-volunteers/apply/

One of our recent volunteers made this lovely video about his time as a volunteer with us recently - if you are struggling to decide whether this opportunity is for you then this is worth a watch!

How it increases happiness

What better way to feel positive is there than spending your evening releasing a critically endangered pangolin into the wild after it has just been rescued from a local restaurant? Or seeing a long-term resident such as our bears enjoying the enrichment you made for them?

Your work here directly impacts both the species, and the individual animals under our care - so you can be assured you are making a real positive difference to the world.
