Definition of Terms:

______________
beloud.now makes violence against women and FLINTA* more visible.

Those affected can anonymously mark experiences of violence — of any kind — on a map. Now or years later. No sign-up. No names. No personal data.

Why this matters:

Violence against women & FLINTA* is everyday. Many experiences of violence never become visible. Not everyone goes to the police. Not every experience is told. And much of it doesn't appear in any statistic. beloud.now creates visibility.

All information can be found on the website: https://beloud.now

Transparency: This task was made by a volunteer supporter of the project and is not affiliated with beloud.now in any way.

How it increases happiness

beloud.now makes visible what often remains unseen.

The map creates awareness. It shows that experiences of violence, harassment, stalking and insecurity are not isolated incidents.

The anonymized and aggregated experiences will be used from beloud.now to:

  • better understand local hotspots and patterns worldwide

  • identify places and situations requiring particular attention

  • question and further develop existing safety concepts

  • plan prevention measures more effectively

  • and drive concrete, lasting change.

Steps to complete the task

You can do the spot no matter who you are!

If you are a FLINTA* person:

  1. Download the App from the App Store or from the Google Play Store

  2. Mark the location
The app opens directly at your location. Drag the pin to the exact spot, where you had to experience violence. This can be long ago or (hopefully not) in the future. The coordinates are slightly blurred before saving to protect your privacy.

  3. Choose a category
Select from six categories: harassment, stalking, threat, physical attack, feeling unsafe, or other.

  4. View the reports
The reports appear anonymously on the map

  5. Share the App and project with all FLINTA* you know
The more reports, the clearer it becomes where action is needed and the bigger is the message to politics for e.g. better safety laws, more women's refuges, etc..

If you are not a FLINTA* person:

  1. Learn about feminism, the patriarchy and why feminism is still necessary
Reflect yourself and your actions. No matter what your current perspective and view of yourself is. Every man is bound to have made a statement or taken an action at some point that is rooted in patriarchy. Every man must engage in deep self-reflection in order to combat such patriarchal structures of violence and to bring about justice in this regard.

  2. Speak up for women when they face violence
Speaking out against violence is key to preventing violence against FLINTA*. No matter whether it’s your closest friend, whom you’ve known for ages, a complete stranger on the street or on social media. Speak up against violence! This is key to fight the structures why projects like these need to exist in general and for a more equal and better world

  3. Share the App and project with all FLINTA* you know
The more reports, the clearer it becomes where action is needed and the bigger is the message to politics for e.g. better safety laws, more women's refuges, etc..

  4. Never stop questioning everything critically
