Overview:

As a Volunteer Adoption Application Specialist, you will play a crucial role in helping us review and process adoption applications to ensure that our dogs find loving and suitable forever homes. Your main responsibility will be to review adoption applications, conduct interviews with potential adopters, and provide recommendations to our adoption team.

Responsibilities:

• Review adoption applications submitted by potential adopters.

• Conduct phone or in-person interviews with potential adopters to assess their suitability as pet owners.

• Check references provided by potential adopters, such as veterinarians and landlords.

• Collaborate with our adoption team to make recommendations for the best match between dogs and adopters.

• Maintain accurate records of adoption applications, interviews, and final decisions.

• Provide support and guidance to potential adopters throughout the adoption process.

• Follow up with adopters after the adoption to ensure a successful transition for the dog.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to make objective assessments of potential adopters.

• Knowledge of dog behavior and care is a plus but not required.

• Previous experience in customer service, counseling, or adoption services is a plus but not required.

Time Commitment:

• Flexible, based on availability.

• Some evening and weekend availability may be required, depending on the volume of adoption applications.
